Leyton Sports Therapy & Injury Clinic

Getting You Back To What You Love

What is Sports Therapy?

Sports Therapy is a specialised profession that combines both clinical treatment and rehabilitation that aims to promote and correct functional movement in work, home and sporting scenarios.

Your Treatment

At the TheTherapyGuy we have adopted a holistic approach that pulls techniques from a wide range of disciplines to model a treatment and rehabilitation programme that is specific to you and your needs. We look at the body as a whole, and not just focus on where the pain is coming from. Our aim is to treat the injury and prevent any future injuries from occurring.

You’re in Good Hands

TheTherapyGuy is fully qualified and registered with the Society of Sports Therapists and has full public liability insurance cover. We have also developed relationships with local GP’s and consultants so that if there is an issue we cannot resolve we will ensure the patient is referred along the correct pathway to receive the best possible care.

Your Initial Assessment

What should I wear?

  • Comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely and give the therapist adequate access to the area that you require treatment.

  • For example if you require your knee to be assessed please arrive, or have with you, a pair of shorts.

  • Please also bring with you any running or sports shoes that you regularly exercise in.

What to expect

  1. Understand your Medical History

On your first visit to the clinic you will have a full and comprehensive medical history taken where you will be asked questions based around previous injuries and also the current problem you are experiencing.

The Therapist will need to ask about any previous or underlying health issues and also any medication that you take.

If you have any relevant x-rays or MRI scans and report it will be useful for the therapist if you bring these with you as it will give better understanding of your current condition

  2. Understand your pain

We will then take you through a series of accessory movements and orthopaedic tests in order to give you an accurate and precise diagnosis

  3. Comprehensive Therapy

Within your first visit we will also treat your condition with appropriate hands on treatment modalities and also begin to build you a specific rehabilitation programme.

The therapist will also advise you on how many further sessions you may need and how long your injury is likely to last.
